Connecting a laptop to a tv

Did you know that you can surf the net and watch movies from the internet on your TV? It's very simple! All you need to do is connect the laptop to a TV. It depends on what kind of TV you have. If you have a newer TV model, it already has an s-video so you are all set. But if you have the older TV it does not have an s-video. You have a few options; If you already have an s-video cable buy an S-Video (VHS) Male to RCA Female Adapter ,if you do not have it you can get vga to RCA adapter or S-video to RCA Cable .

Here is how you do it:

a)Connect the audio and s-video or vga cable to the laptop and connect the rca side to the tv.
If you newer tv connect the s-video.
b)On the computer, right click on the desktop, scroll down and click on properties .(image 1)

c) Click on advanced, then on the general tab.

d) On the general tab check the bullet, apply the new settings without restarting , then click apply.

d) Click on display and click on the button to turn the TV on, apply changes and click ok.

Turn your TV on video output.
That's it, enjoy your movie!

*Note: Not all laptop models come with this feature. To find out if your laptop has it, go to display properties>settings>advanced. If you don't see the displays tab on the top of your laptop it does not have this feature.
Another way to get to the display property is: start menu>control panel>display

Thanks for reading and good luck.
